Main aims:
- In co-operation with other national and international groups, to develop and serve an informed, interdisciplinary medical and health informatics community, bringing together healthcare professionals and scientists, information professionals and academic researchers and educators.
- To promote an active research and development community in medical and health informatics, spanning the academic, industrial and healthcare sectors.
- To provide an open forum for independent, informed discussion and debate.
- To act as a voice for the professional and scientific community in the formation of information policies and strategies in the national health services.
- To advance the quality and provision of medical and health informatics education and training.
The annual accounts of the Society are audited.
