BMiS / ASSIST Collaboration

It is with great pleasure that we are able to report stronger links between ASSIST and BMiS. This partnership will bring closer the NHS' Information and Communication Technology community with the wider health informatics community (including academics, clinicians and nurses).

Founded in 1993, ASSIST (www.assist.org.uk) is a national organisation established to provide a network for those involved in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the National Health Service in the UK.

BMiS (British Medical Informatics Society, www.bmis.org) was founded in 1986. The Society's purpose is to advance the knowledge and application of medical and health informatics, understood as the skills and tools that enable the sharing and use of information to deliver healthcare and promote health.

Initially, this collaboration will involve:

  • Linking the two websites via hyperlinks.
  • Advertising each other's events.
  • Attendance at each other's events at members' rates (including annual conferences).

We look forward to further collaborative efforts in due course.

If you would like further information or would like to discuss this subject further, please do not hesitate to contact:
